PAINT PROTECTION INNOVATION

Revolutionary change to the PPF industry

How PeelClear Is Redefining Paint Protection with a Sprayable, Removable Alternative to Traditional PPF

How Peelclear Is Changing the PPF Industry

For more than a decade, paint protection film (PPF) has been the gold standard for keeping a vehicle’s factory paint safe from rock chips, road debris, and everyday wear. It works, but anyone who has installed it knows the tradeoffs: templating, cutting, heat-gunning film around mirrors and bumpers, wrestling with edges on complex curves, and — eventually — dealing with adhesive residue if the film needs to come off. A new product called Peelclear is challenging that whole approach, and it’s worth understanding why the industry is paying attention.

A Different Category, Not Just a New Film

Peelclear isn’t a film at all. It’s a patent-pending waterborne peelable paint system that’s sprayed on with standard HVLP equipment in a regular paint booth — no cutting on the vehicle surface, no templating, no adhesive layers, no yellowing. It cures into a flexible, crosslinked coating that behaves like real automotive paint while still being fully removable. When an owner wants a change, an installer can score an edge and peel the finish off by hand in large clean sections, revealing the untouched factory paint underneath.

That single shift — from “install a film” to “spray a coating” — is what’s turning heads in body shops and detailing studios that have historically only worked with PPF or vinyl wraps.

Where Peelclear Solves PPF’s Biggest Pain Points

  • No seams, no edges, no film lines:  Complex curves, tight trim, and body lines that are notoriously difficult to wrap in film aren’t a problem when the material goes on as liquid and cures as one continuous layer.
  • No adhesive residue: Traditional film removal often means heat guns, chemical adhesive removers, and the risk of pulling clear coat with it. Peelclear is designed to release cleanly with no adhesive step at all.
  • Real color, not just clear: PPF’s job is protection; color usually still requires a wrap or repaint. Peelclear offers unlimited color and finish combinations — solids, pearls, color-shifting effects, and OEM color matching — while still protecting the factory finish underneath.
  • Sandable and polishable like paint: Because the system is built in layers (a waterborne base coat for color and film-build, plus a top coat for gloss, satin, or matte finish and UV resistance), installers can sand, polish, and correct it at nearly any stage — something film and vinyl simply can’t offer.

Backed by a 20 Year Warranty That Outpaces the Category

Peelclear is currently promoted with a 20-year warranty — described as roughly four times the industry standard — covering yellowing, cracking, fading, peeling, and adhesion failure. For an owner deciding between a film install and something new, that kind of durability claim, paired with full reversibility, is a meaningful selling point.

Peelclear currently offers three tiers of install package:

  • Bronze: front-end coverage focused on the highest-impact areas, minimal disassembly
  • Silver: full exterior coverage without disassembly, typically completed in about two days
  • Gold:full disassembly (door jambs, trunk jambs, fuel door) for a finish meant to be indistinguishable from factory paint, aimed at show cars and high-end builds
